In its 27th announcement since His Majesty was admitted to Siriraj Hospital, the bureau said a team of doctors monitoring his condition detected irregular electrical signals from His Majesty’s heart.
The doctors performed a scan of the King’s blood-flow functions and found that his heart was receiving inadequate blood supply, the bureau said. So, doctors performed a coronary angiography scan on Sunday and found that a vein on the right side of his heart had narrowed.
The bureau said doctors Tuesday performed “balloon” surgery to correct the narrowing of the vein, embedding a stent and used a rotablator to correct the problem without making His Majesty unconscious first.
The statement said the operation was successful and that doctors would continue to monitor the King closely.
