Bangkok bus bursts into flame

An air-conditioned bus heading to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport burst into flame Monday morning on an elevated road in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district, police said.

Fortunately 20 passengers onboard and bus driver Ratana Jenraksa fled the bus in time, thus no injury. It took fire-fighters with three fire engines 20 minutes to put off the fire that consumed the whole bus while three lanes of the elevated way were closed to accommodate the operation. Police is investigating the cause of the fire.
Ratana told police that he was driving from Samut Prakan province towards the airport when smoke came out of the engine room so he pulled over and urged passengers to get out the vehicle just before it burst into flame.
