Heavy overnight rains paralyse Bangkok traffic

Torrential rains on Monday night left many roads in Bangkok impassable and paralysed transport in the morning rush hours.

As of 8am on Tuesday, commuters and motorcyclists were struggling to cope with the floods in many areas.

In the Huai Khwang area, there was a long queue of people on Soi Suppharuk, a bylane on Sutthisarn Winitchai Road, waiting for motorbike taxis.

Heavy traffic jams around the city, and the high demand for transport service meant many were late for work.
