Six Klongtoey squatter houses burned down

Six squatter houses in the Klongtoey community were destroyed in a fire early Monday, police said. No one was injured in the blaze that happened at the Old Railway Community in Klongtoey district at 5 am.
Five fighters with five fire engines took about 45 minutes to control the blaze.
Somporn Sirood, 44, the chairman of the community, told police that the fire allegedly started from a house that there were two residents staying on the second floor. Somporn quoted the two as saying they saw the fire caused by short circuit at the ceiling and spread quickly.
