Prayut says he not mean it about plan to write draft on his own

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said he did not mean it when he said he would write a new charter draft on his own if the draft of Meechai Ruchuphan is rejected in the August 7 referendum.

While giving a speech at the ceremony to give awards to outstanding village funds, Prayut said he would make a new draft himself if the current one failed to win public approval.
But he later corrected himself with reporters.
“It’s informal statement. Don’t mind me. I am firing it away to cheer up the audience,” Prayut said.
