Thai shares sustained despite blasts

Thai shares have managed to stay in the positive territory in the afternoon, despite a series of bombings during August 11-12.

At 2.31pm, the Stock Exchange of Thailand Index gained 3.94 points or 0.25 per cent from the previous closing, to stay at 1,556.58 points. The Index opened 11.72 points lower.
Asia Plus Securities said in a research note that the market could today briefly suffer from the domestic violence.  The immediate resistance line is at 1,532 points. If the Index falls below this level, it could slide to 1,521 points and next to 1,505 points.
Year to date, foreign net-buys of Thai shares reached US$2.83 billion.
Last week alone, foreign net-buys were worth $505.4 million. Other emerging markets in Asia also drew huge inflows: $926.4 million to the Philippines and $517.8 million to Indonesia.
