Kamontasana, formerly known as Kim-eng Saetiew, claimed that since she is illiterate she has no choice but to use stories that cannot be verified to dupe people out of money.
Rassameechan Pakdeechanok, president of Pakdeechanok Ltd Partnership and wife of Maj-General Torkhun Pakdeechanok, filed the complaint with Crime Suppression Division sub-division 1 inspector Natthapakorn Panyadee, saying she could not step forward earlier due to health issues.
Police arrested Kamontasana in Nakhon Sawan’s Chum Saeng district at the weekend on charges of fraud and falsifying documents in allegedly duping a media company executive of Bt2.97 million in 2010-2012. She had promised to get the victim a royal decoration.
Subsequent police investigation led to two arrest warrants for her alleged accomplices, Thaworn Puangprathim and Somsak Siriyakhom.
Thaworn, 66, was arrested this week and accused of impersonating an official from the palace to present flowers to Kamontasana at events held to solicit donations.
