798 military officers promoted

A total of 798 senior military officers have been promoted under the Royal command, it was announced on Friday evening.

The appointments are effective from October 1, the start of the new government fiscal year.
In this year’s personnel transfers, a total of 27 female military officers have been promoted to the rank of general.
The Royal command, undersigned by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, was announced in the Royal Gazette on Friday.
Assistant Army commander-in-chief General Chalermchai Sitthisart has been promoted to commander-in-chief, the most powerful position in the Armed Forces. General Pisit Sitthisarn has been appointed deputy commander-in-chief.
Government Spokesman Maj-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd and his deputy, Maj-General Werachon Sukontapatipak, who are both serving as Army specialists, have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.
The Navy’s special adviser, Admiral Poldej Charoenpol, has been promoted to deputy commander-in-chief.
Admiral Naris Pratoomsuwan, the commander of the Royal Thai Fleet, has been appointed assistant commander-in-chief of the Navy.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Johm Rungswang has been promoted to commander-in-chief of the Air Force.
Air Force assistant commander-in-chief, Air Vice Marshal Twidanes Angsusingha, has been appointed deputy commander-in-chief.
