Warrant out for 7th suspect in Mother’s Day attacks

Surat Thani’s military court Thursday issued an arrest warrant for Phang-Nga firebomb suspect Sukiman Kubaru.

Sukiman is the seventh man wanted in relation to the spate of bomb and arson attacks on August 11 and 12 in seven provinces popular with tourists. The attacks killed four people and injured more than 30 others.
Earlier Thursday, deputy police chief Pol General Srivara Rangsipramanakul took a flight to Surat Thani to apply for an arrest warrant for the 34-year-old Narathiwat native. Sukiman is accused of conspiring with others to plant a firebomb to set alight a clothing shop in Bang Niang Market in Phang-Nga’s Takua Pa district.
The court issued a warrant for Sukiman over charges of conspiring with others and having explosives in possession without permission, conspiring to set another person’s property on fire and racketeering.
