Auckland - Domino's Pizza has carried out the world's first pizza delivery by drone in a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, according to a video posted on Facebook.

The video shows a peri peri chicken pizza and a chicken and cranberry pizza being delivered to a house in Whangaparaoa, about 25 kilometres north of Auckland.
The drone, a DRU model by Australian independent drone delivery service Flirtey, hovers above the house before lowering the pizza into the customer's garden.
Scott Bush, general manager of Domino's in New Zealand, called it "the first ever drone delivery of food to a customer via unmanned aerial vehicle."
"It's a small flight for these pizzas, one giant flight for Domino's, DRU Drone by Flirtey and most importantly our customers," he said.
Domino's and Flirtey announced plans to provide the world's first drone delivery service in August.
