Muslim insurgents detonated a roadside home-made bomb to ambush a unit of troops, killing one of them and injuring three others.

Police said the attack happened at 5:20 am on a road not far from a road checkpoint in Yala’s Mueang district.
The four troops were traveling on two motorcycle from their base near a school to the road checkpoint near an intersection when insurgents detonated the bomb that was hidden near a tree.
Police said the bomb was made of explosives stuffed in a gas cylinder and it was detonated with a two-way radio device.
