Two more organic laws set for public hearings

Another two critical organic laws paving the way for a coming general election – the House of Representatives draft bill, and the Senator draft bill – are set for their first public hearings as the Constitution Drafting Commission has finished the first drafts.

The forum, which will be held in Petchaburi Province this weekend, will see CDC member Praphan Naiyakowit and CDC spokesperson Chartchai Na Chiangmai leading other CDC members to explain the content of the bills.
Their views will be gauged to help craft the bills further.
The CDC earlier said it has almost completed the first two critical laws concerning the Election Commission, and the Political Parties. Once the Charter is promulgated, the bills would be passed to the National Legislative Assembly for deliberations.
If the first four bills are endorsed, a general election can go ahead without waiting for completion of another six bills, which are addressed in the new charter draft.
The CDC has 240 days after the charter promulgation to complete all the bills.
