The International Organization of la Francophonie’s member states that have a diplomatic mission or consular post in Bangkok will organize several events to celebrate the International Francophonie Day, the French Embassy announced.

The International Francophonie Day is celebrated worldwide on March 20.
To launch the Francophonie festivities in Thailand, a reception co-organized by the Embassies of Belgium, Canada, France, Morocco and Switzerland will take place on March 1 during which each country will present their culinary specialties, according to a press statement from the French Embassy.
On this occasion, the main institutional partners in Thailand will gather at the Swiss Residence: the embassies of the International Organization of la Francophonie’s member states, representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Education, Culture, Commerce, French-speaking Thai diplomats, the Thai Association of French teachers, heads of French university departments, and France alumni.
A series of events in the fields of music (Axelle Red, “O”, François Lindemann and Swiss Art Songs and OPERA), gastronomy with “Goût de France”, cinema and art will follow to showcase the diversity of Francophonie to a large public.
In parallel, French learners will be offered numerous activities. The French Embassy said it will organize pedagogical sessions for students where they can practice their language skills through drama, comics, singing or in short movie making workshops. French speaking diplomats from the Embassies of Belgium, France, Morocco and Switzerland will also visit selected universities to talk about their countries and their links to Francophonie.
Students will also have the opportunity to take part in international French contests such as “le mot d’or” et “la plume d’or” and the French teachers will have the opportunity to participate in the “BELC” practical training.
