Storm warning for 7 southern provinces

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department has warned seven southern provinces of that heavy rains, strong winds and big waves are expected up until Thursday.
The provinces are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
The department said it was monitoring weather reports and was preparing manpower and equipment to aid any flood-affected residents.
Affected residents can call the department's hotline 1784 around the clock.
