Sri Ayudhya in talks with partner Allianz for investment in non-life insurance

Insurance holding company Sri Ayudhya Capital Plc is in discussions with the Germany-based Allianz Group to invest in non-life insurance, the company reported to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Sri Ayudhya Capital currently partners with Allianz Group in the life insurance business in Thailand through Allianz Ayudhya Assurance, an associate company, in which Sri Ayudhya Capital holds a 20.17-per-cent stake.
The holding company has invested in non-life insurance through its company Sri Ayudhya General Insurance).
The board of directors of Sri Ayudhya Capital on Monday approved the appointment of a committee to consider the cooperation. The four directors named to the committee are: Virojn Srethapramotaya; Nopporn Tirawattanagool; Chusak Salee; and Laksna Thongthai.
The committee has been tasked with looking into the possibility based on the details of the said cooperation, pertinent actions, compliance with the relevant laws and regulations, and to propose recommendations to the company's board of directors for further consideration.
