Temple spokesman charged with defying junta summons

Dhammakaya spokesperson Phra Sanitwong Wuthiwangson turned himself in at Pathum Thani's Klong 5 Police Station on Friday morning and was charged with violating a junta order to present himself to the Department of Special Investigation chief earlier.

The charge comes under Pathum Thani police jurisdiction and will be dealt with at the Thanyaburi Provincial Court.
A day earlier, on Thursday, the 45-year-old monk had surrendered at the Crime Suppression Division in Bangkok to hear charges against him of incitement, violation of the computer crime act and defamation. He denied the charges and was later granted bail release by the Ratchadapisek Criminal Court.
