World Water Day event to pay tribute to King Bhumibol

The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment will host an event to celebrate World Water Day on March 22 to pay tribute to late King Rama IX .

Worasart Apaipong, director-general of the Department of Water Resources under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, said on Saturday that the theme of the event would be “HM the late King’s Teachings on Sustainable Water Management”, featuring various inventions of the late monarch such as the Chaipattana Aerator, the famous monkey’s cheek project, and the soil aggravation technique.
Other features include open discussions on water problems and a special lecture by the secretary-general of the Chaipattana Foundation, Sumet Tantivejkul.
The event will take place on March 22 at Impact Muang Thong Thani, from 8am to 4pm.
World Water Day aims to take action to tackle the water crisis with a focus on the importance of fresh water and the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
