Fire damages BMA City Hall

An entire room on the fourth floor of the five-storey Bangkok Metropolitan Administration City Hall was damaged in a fire Monday evening.

Nobody was injured in the blaze, police said.
The fire started at about 6.19pm inside the Panyupat self-learning centre room, causing damage to a 60-square-metre area of the floor.
Police suspect that the blaze was caused by a short circuit.
Engineers from the Engineering Institute of Thailand will check the safety of the building’s structure on Tuesday.
