Rainmaking to be made to help farmers in dry season

Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department chief Surasee Kittimonton said the department was ready to assist the Royal Irrigation Department to provide more water this dry season, as the weather pattern would be suitable for rainmaking from this week on.

“During the early phase of the dry season, rainmaking is not very helpful in boosting water storage in dams, because the weather is still unsuitable and the land is very dry. So, there is less water flow to reservoirs,” Surasee said.
“However, from mid-March we expect that the weather will become more suitable for rainmaking and can assist irrigation purposes and mitigate the wildfire and haze problem in the North.”
