Government House on Thursday installed a total of 36 sensors on all its gates to elevate security measures following recent protests near the compound and attempts by intruders to hand over petitions to the prime minister.

Government House saw unexpected protests last month by groups opposed to the coal-fired power plant in Krabi and earlier in December, one protester had climbed the building in an attempt to meet the premier.
The newly installed sensors would detect any intrusions, especially at night-time, and transmit signals to nearby police booths to alert stationed officers.
