Lese majeste trial for ‘Pai Dao Din’ begins

Activist Jatupat “Pai Dao Din” Boonpatraraksa faced his first hearing on Tuesday for alleged violations of the Computer Crime Act and the lese majeste law at the Khon Kaen Provincial Court.
The court allowed the public into the hearing.
During the pre-trial period, the court had ordered closed hearings when authorities requested extensions of the activist’s detention and Jatupat’s lawyer requested release on bail.
Many prominent pro-democracy activists such as Rangsiman Rome and Siriwith Serithiwat along with their supporters were present in court to show moral support for Jatupat.
