Thai actor and model James Ma on Saturday sought deferment of his Army conscription, citing his ongoing master’s degree studies at Assumption University.  This is the fourth time he is seeking postponement from the draft.

Thai men aged over 21 who mentally and physically meet the criteria must serve in the military for two years. Their enrolment is decided by a draw. Those who pull a red card have to do the military service while those who get a black ticket are exempted.
The Army draft this year begins today until April 12. The Army aims to enlist 103,097 men this year.
