Chiang Rai arrests uncover 1 million meth tablets
Anti-narcotics police arrested two men in Chiang Rai province for possessing 1 million methamphetamine tablets on Sunday.
The suspects were identified as Pisit Narongrit, 35, and Prathan Chumkaew, 25.
The drugs were hidden inside fertiliser bags in their truck.
Pisit said he had been offered Bt400,000 to deliver the drug.
“I have not been yet paid. I was told to deliver the stuff to Songkhla,” he said.
Police said they had received a tip-off about the plan to transport drugs to the South in a truck, and they knew the vehicle’s licence plate number.
