Thunderstorms damaged more than 100 houses in four districts of Phrae province late Wednesday night, the provincial governor said.

Watana Phutthichart said the damage occurred in Mueang, Denchai, Sung Men and Wang Chuen districts and he’d authorised an urgent response to assist affected residents.
Troops from the 12th Cavalry Battalion were among the aid groups dispatched on Thursday, as were students from Phrae Technical College trained in repairing electrical appliances.
A tree fell on a venerable naga sculpture at the gate of Wat Suphan in Mueang district’s Tambon Pamat, breaking the head off the snake-like creature.
