Elderly man killed after being hit by a running train in Buri Ram

An elderly man collecting garbage for recycling was killed after being hit by a moving train in Buri Ram’s Krasang district on Wednesday morning.

Pol Captain Thanat Nakhonthaisong from Krasang Police Station said the accident happened about a kilometre after the Bangkok-Surin train had left the Krasang railway station.
The man did not carry any ID card except a bank savings book under the name Prakoon Korkaew. Thanat checked the Interior Ministry’s household registration database and found that the victim was 72 years old and the resident of a district in Buri Ram province.
A fertilizer bag with recyclable garbage was found near the body.
