A Chiang Mai man was arrested on Friday for allegedly posting a photo on Facebook considered insulting to His Majesty the King.

Jirawat Nualla-ong, 31, was arrested at his house on Soi Rakaeng 2 in Mueang district.
Police said he had posted the photo on his “Max Jackson” Facebook page on Monday in an act of lese majeste. They said he is a known supporter of fugitive militant red-shirt leader Wuttipong “Ko Tee” Kotthammakhun.
Jirawat was told to remove all such material before his Facebook account was deactivated. He was then sent to Suan Proong Hospital for an assessment of his mental health.
