There will be 11 reform panels in total as addressed in the new charter, which was promulgated on April 6, kick-starting the enactment of the two key laws, which are addressed for the first time in the Constitution.
Two of the committees – for educational reform and reform of the police – have been set up ahead of the national reform law’s promulgation, Sansern said.
The national reform law outlines mechanisms and frameworks to steer reforms, such as a reform committee for each sector, regulations, time frames, tracking processes, evaluations and engagement with the people’s sector and relevant agencies.
The frameworks are expected to be completed within one year of the promulgation of the reform law.
