
The area covers 265,000 rai of paddy fields in Sukhothai and Phitsanulok provinces.
“Between 6am and 9am, water in front of the Bang Kaew Canal water gate increased by two centimetres an hour,” Chamnan Chutiang, the director of Yom-Nan water irrigation project, said.
He said locals along the Mem and Bang Kaew canals should move their belongings to higher ground.
“Local farmers, meanwhile, should harvest their crops,” he said.
Floods have recently ravaged many provinces in the country, causing casualties and damage.
Of all provinces, the northeastern province of Sakon Nakhon has been the hardest hit.
Eleven Sakon Nakhon’s districts are swamped. The flood water level ranges between 70 and 100 centimetres.
