His Majesty had Privy Councillor Adm Pongthep Noothep deliver 300 bags of dried foods and necessities to the families at 9am at Wat Chan Rangsi Wararam in Tambon Nadee, in the province’s Fao Rai district.
Nong Khai deputy governor Prasong Kong Khaoroptham attended the ceremony and briefed the privy councillor on the flood situation in the province.
He said the flooding had occurred on July 31 when the Songkram river burst its banks in the Chaiwan, Thungfon and Bang Dung areas of Fao Rai district.
The floodwater has since subsided, he added.
