Cyclists head to Sanam Luang to pay respects to late King

A caravan of some 200 cyclists from Si Sa Ket, Ubon Ratchathani and Amnat Charoen provinces departed the Si Sa Ket City Hall on Friday morning to cover 539 kilometres to pay their respects to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Bangkok.

The cyclists would collect rice grains, drinking water and cash donations to present to officials overseeing mourners at Sanam Luang.
Si Sa Ket Deputy Governor Methee Supanfai presided over the departure of the caravan, which would carry 9,999 kilograms of rice grains to hand over to Sanam Luang’s charity food tents to feed the mourners.
