The second rehearsal will take place one day before HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn presides over the ceremony to raise the top of the pyre on October 18, marking the official completion of construction, said Deputy Prime Minister Tanasak Patimapakorn at the inspection last night at Sanam Luang.
“Tonight we checked the lighting system again to make sure all systems were perfect,” he said, adding that the rain had not disturbed the checks.
“After the rain, we checked whether the lighting and elevation systems worked or not so we could adjust them,” he added.
“All pavilions have been installed with lightning conductors for safety. Transparent plastic covers have also been installed to protect against the rain. They can be stored if there is no rain during the Royal Ceremony.
“During the last 10 months of the construction, we are harmoniously working on the marvellous Royal Crematorium – the unique, world’s greatest architecture – for the late King in order to pay respect to our beloved King and the Chakri Dynasty.”
