Tourists in Songkhla pause to watch cremation ceremony

Malaysian and Singaporean tourists on Thursday joined Thai residents in the southern province of Songkhla to watch the live broadcast of HM the late King King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Royal Cremation Ceremony.

The broadcast was shown via a large LCD screen installed in the downtown area of Hat Yai district as well as in other sites on Sanehanusorn Road and the Chaturas Nakhon Plaza.
The general public as well as tourists gathered to watch the historic ceremony.
Some tourists appeared very interested in the broadcast and offered condolences to the Thai people.
LCD screens around Hat Yai town that normally featured advertising clips also shifted programming to the ceremony's live broadcast.
