A car taking a family to visit the popular tourist destination, Phu Rua mountaintop, caught fire on Saturday morning.

The driver, Charnchai Phuwakiartkamchorn, and four family members escaped from their Toyota Camry in time before it was engulfed in a blaze at 6am.
Police said the incident happened shortly before the car reached the second checkpoint on the mountaintop in Loei’s Phu Rua distrit.
Charnchai said he was taking his family from Bangkok to enjoy the sunrise and chilling weather atop the mountain, but fire suddenly broke out under the bonnet and quickly spread inside the car.
The entire car was engulfed in about 10 minutes and a fire engine took about 20 minutes to put out the blaze.
