Loei border town busy with long-weekend tourists
The final day of a long-holiday weekend drew 10,000 tourists to the top of Mount Phu Thok near the border town of Chiang Khan in Loei on Monday morning.
Though the temperature was too high for wintry seas of mist, the visitors enjoy watching the sun rise.
The mountain summit affords views across the towns on either side of the border and far into Laos.
At 6am, many tourists lined roads along the Mekong River giving alms to monks.
