Bus steward in trouble after family dumped over crying child

Busted by the social media, a steward on a state-run bus faces disciplinary action after he ejected a family of four because of a crying child.

Hearing the grumbling online, the state-run Transport Company on Tuesday vowed to conduct an investigation and take action as needed against Wanchai Kaewcharoen.
Wanchai was a steward aboard Bangkok-Samui bus No 991-941 on Sunday evening when the child was crying “for a long period” and other passengers began complaining.
He said he warned the mother to keep the infant quiet, but the crying continued. He suspected the child was afraid of the dark.
Wanchai had the bus stop at a petrol station at the Cha-am intersection where there was a hotel where they could spend the night.
The family took a train to Surat Thani the next day.
The Transport Company said the steward had acted inappropriately and had failed to consult a superior before taking action.
It said the family would receive an official apology and be compensated for all expenses, including the hotel accommodation.
