Drunk driver ploughs through shops, injures motorcyclist

A drunk driver returning home crashed into roadside shops and motorcycles, injuring a Laotian migrant in Phetchaburi early on Monday.

Police said the accident happened at a roadside market on the Phetchaburi-Haad Chao Samran road in Tambon Phoraiwai in Muang district at 4.30am.
Police said a Toyota car driven by Anucha Puanpong, 20, swept through shops selling alcohol and meatballs and a shrine, as well hitting three motorcycles. One motorcycle was being ridden by a Laotian migrant, who was seriously injured.
The Laotian, who was rushed to a hospital, has not yet been identified.
