The Philippine economy grew 6.7 per cent in 2017, a slower pace than the 6.9-per-cent expansion in 2016, an election year, the government reported on Tuesday.

National Statistician Lisa Grace Bersales said gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the fourth quarter was at 6.6 per cent.
The fourth-quarter economic growth was the same as the previous year’s 6.6 per cent.
The government has set the GDP growth target for 2017 at 6.5-7.5 per cent.
This year, the government targets 7-8 per cent growth.
