The activists of the People Go Network reached their destination at Democracy Monument at 11am following a 450-kilometre march, which started in January 20 at Thammasat University in Pathum Thani .
The activists vowed their success marked only the symbolic beginning of a nationwide campaign to achieve people’s basic rights of freedom and democracy. The group reached the landmark from four directions, each representing the key issues of their campaign: democracy, state welfare, food security and communal rights and natural resource management.
Akekachai Isaratha, a People Go Network representative, announced the conclusion of the “800,000 steps” march and said their march to Mittraphap Road for social issues would be replicated around the country.
