Authorities have warned that anyone violating orders that ban entry to illegal markets surrounding the house of the so-called “furious aunts” are liable to a jail term, a fine or both.

The Prawet District Office has posted announcements on its orders and punishment involved at Ple, Yingnara, Rungwanich, and Suan Luang marks around the Saengyoktrakarn family’s house.

Violators may face a jail term of up to six months, and a daily fine of Bt30,000.
According to the orders, no one shall enter or use structures that are erected or modified without permission until authorities grant approval. The orders also require that illegally built or modified structures be adjusted to comply with what was approved by authorities within 30 days.

Armed with an axe and a shovel, two Saengyoktrakarn sisters attacked a pickup truck that a shopper parked in front of their house’s gate earlier in February, attracting huge public attention.
The controversy about their actions finally revealed their decade-long plight, which started after several illegal markets were opened around their house.
