Chinese tourist dies after parasailing near Phuket

Gu Weidong took a three-minute parasailing ride on Saturday and then spent another 10 minutes back on the boat before falling unconscious. 
He was taken to Thalang Hospital in Phuket but died on the way and doctors announced after a post-mortem that he had suffered a heart attack.

Gu arrived in Phuket with another 10 Chinese tourists on Friday, April 13 and stayed at a hotel in Patong. He went to Ao Po Pier at noon the following day to visit Naka Yai Island and went parasailing at 2.30pm.
Police have reported the incident to the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok and have also.
They have also questioned the parasailing company and in particular, the people who were running the rides when Gu was flying.
