China says to push to improve Vatican ties after bishop deal
China and the Vatican will push to improve bilateral ties after the two sides signed a "provisional" agreement on the appointment of bishops on Saturday, the Chinese foreign ministry said.
"The two sides will continue to maintain communication and push forward the improvement of bilateral relations," the ministry said in a brief statement, which added that the signing took place in Beijing but did not offer any details about the landmark deal.
