Phuket vegetarian festival kicks off
The famous Phuket vegetarian street processions have started with Thais and visitors watching during Wednesday morning’s rain in Phuket Town.
The festival is held until October 17.
The Naka Shrine was the first to hold street processions.
Many spirit mediums or ma song joined the processions with knives, saws, fishhooks and other items used to pierce the faces and bodies of the “possessed" ma song.
