Police say Natthakorn Nimreung contacted the victims via Facebook, claiming photos of them naked had been posted online and prompting them to click on the provided link to see evidence. He then allegedly hijacked the victims' Facebook accounts and asked their friends for “loans” of money worth Bt415,520 in total.
Natthakorn, who reportedly confessed to the crimes, was arrested at his home on Kanchanapisek Road in Bangkok's Bang Khae district. Police also found Bt50,000 cash and the cellphone and computer he allegedly used to commit the fraud. He was taken to face justice in Chiang Mai, where the victims filed the complaints.
