More than 150 teams took part in CS:GO, or “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive”, a multi-player, first-person shooter video game widely played around the world. 
“The winning team will represent Thailand at the CS:GO tournament in Taiwan,” said one of the event committee members.&nbsp; 
The winning team got Bt200,000 cash, medals and a trophy. 
Tung Chen-yuan, representative from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, said at the end of the event that Thailand’s esport market has been growing rapidly, and the popularity of esport also had skyrocketed recently. “The fact that more than 150 teams and 750 professional gamers participated in this event proves that Thailand has the potential to be the centre of esport activities in Southeast Asia,” he said. 
“In addition, we hope that this event would help Thai gamers and consumers understand Taiwan’s strong point in information technology,” he added.

‘LucidDream’ crowned Thai CS:GO champions

Thai esport team LucidDream won the Taiwan Excellence eSport Cup Thailand at The EmQuartier department store on Sunday (Sep. 22).
