Whale sharks spotted off Prachuap Khiri Khan
A fisherman working the waters in Khan Krada bay on Friday (October 4) shared a live video of whale sharks swimming nearby on Facebook.
Chirasak Mitharit, 44, was out fishing with his children when he spotted a large whale shark chasing after a shoal of fish some 2 miles offshore. Chirasak said the whale shark showed no fear despite the presence of a fishing boat nearby, allowing him film the creature for a full 10 minutes.
This is not the first time a whale shark has been spotted in Khan Krada bay. Chirasak said that they can often been sea during October and he personally has witnessed their presence on four previous occasions.
