Rubber producers finding more buyers at PTT stations

Rubber producers finding more buyers at PTT stations

The Rubber Authority of Thailand continues to work with PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc (PTTOR) on a campaign called “Rubber Products Outlets for Thai Farmers” that will see valued-added rubber items sold at PTT petrol stations nationwide.

“The first outlet was opened at the Thanarak filling station in Chiang Rai’s Mae Lao district,” Nakorn Takkawirapat, the authority’s deputy governor, said this week.
“This year will mark the campaign’s third anniversary and we hope to expand the outlet network even further.”
Nakorn said the idea is to boost domestic sales of rubber products and to reduce producers’ costs in finding distribution channels.
“The outlets also serve as a hub for farmers to share their knowledge and experience in cultivation and harvesting rubber and in processing crude latex into different value-added products,” he said.
PTTOR senior sales manager Nattawut Sirisatjawat said his company was happy to support the campaign and help farmers distribute their products to more customers at no extra cost.
“We hope to promote the outlets as centralised distribution centres for all the surrounding rubber-producing communities,” he said.
“It accords with our commitment to collaborate with community enterprises, the private sector and government agencies in sustainably improving the economy and the quality of life.”
