Pichet Wiriyapaha, director-general of the Cooperative Promotion Department, said on Wednesday (March 25) he had also asked them to maintain fair prices and open more sales outlets.
Thailand has 120 distribution centres and 100 stores and cooperative supermarkets, of which 10 are in Bangkok and neighbouring provinces.
They sell canned fish in tomato sauce, instant noodles, coffee, fish sauce, vegetable oil, sugar, drinking water and cotton facemasks.
In Bangkok and vicinity, smart-taxi cooperatives can deliver items ordered via www.co-opclick.com or the “Co-op Click” application, Pichet noted, and it helps both farmers and taxi drivers who might be earning less during the virus crisis.
