Cold-to-cool weather in upper Thailand, with fog in the morning


Upper Thailand is seeing a 1-3°C rise in temperatures with morning fog or thick fog in some areas, while mountaintops remain cold to very cold with frost in a few places, the Meteorological Department said on Thursday. It added that a weak northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South.

Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:

North: Cool to cold weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 10-16 degrees and highs of 30-32 degrees Celsius. Temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 4-12 degrees Celsius with frost in some areas.

Northeast: Cool to cold weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 11-16 degrees and highs of 29-32 degrees Celsius. Temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 5-11 degrees Celsius.

Central: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 16-17 degrees, highs of 31-33 degrees Celsius.

East: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 16-20 degrees, highs of 31-33 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres offshore.

South (east coast): Cool weather with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 15-23 degrees, highs of 31-32 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and 2 metres during thundershowers.

South (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 21-24 degrees, highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres offshore.

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 18-20 degrees, highs of 32-33 degrees Celsius.
