Gold sees slight slide but silver price highest in eight years
The price of gold dropped by Bt50 per baht weight in morning trade on Tuesday, the Gold Traders Association reported.
As of 9.26am, the buying price of a gold bar was Bt26,300 per baht weight and selling price Bt26,400, while gold ornaments were priced at Bt25,832.64 and Bt26,900, respectively.
Spot gold moved to US$1,862 (Bt55,785) per ounce in the morning.
Comex (Commodity Exchange) gold rose by $13.6 to $1,863.9 (Bt55,842) per ounce, while the price of silver reached its highest point in eight years.
Hong Kong gold price fell by HK$80 to $17,170 (Bt66,358) per tael, the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society reported.
