Hot, hazy day forecast for upper Thailand, less rain in the South


A weak high-pressure system covers the Northeast, while southerly and southeasterly winds are blowing moisture from the Gulf of Thailand to the Northeast, the Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East, bringing thundershowers with gusty winds to these regions, while upper Thailand will experience hot weather with haze, the Meteorological Department said on Wednesday. Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:

North: Hot weather with haze during the day; temperature lows of 15-23 degrees and highs of 34-39 degrees Celsius.

Northeast: Hot weather with haze, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 20-24 degrees and highs of 34-36 degrees Celsius.

Central: Hot weather with haze, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 35-39 degrees Celsius.

East: Hot weather with haze, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 20 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 32-37 degrees Celsius; waves less than a metre high and 1 metre offshore.

South (east coast): Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 22-24 degrees, highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and over 1 metre during thundershowers.

South (west coast): Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 22-26 degrees, highs of 34-36 degrees Celsius; waves less than a metre high and 1 metre offshore.

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot weather with haze, isolated thundershowers in 20 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-26 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius.
